FEES AND POLICY

The following information outlines the fees for psychological and related services.
The Nest's standard consultation fee is billed below the Australian Psychological Society's recommended rate of $311 (45-60 minutes).
INITIAL CONSULTATION - $300
  • 50 minutes for an initial consultation session (new clients only);

  • Followed by 10 minutes for your psychologist to complete referral correspondence requirements, write initial session notes, and engage in case formulation and treatment planning.

  • In person or via Telehealth (Video/Phone)

CLINIC CONSULTATION - $260
  • 50 minutes for a standard session;

  • Followed by 10 minutes for your psychologist to write session notes, engage in case formulation and treatment planning, and/or complete referral correspondence requirements.

  • In person or via Telehealth (Video/Phone)

PHONE CALLS AND LETTERS
  • Phone calls (>15 mins) are billed at the standard session rate, pro rata. 

  • Letters (>15 mins writing) are billed at the standard session rate, pro rata. 

ASSESSMENT FEES

Our assessment fees depend on the specific type of assessment required.

The assessment process generally requires between 5-to-18 hours of involvement, which spans across multiple days. Assessments include the following components:

Your psychologist will be happy to help you identify the appropriate assessment battery based on the reason for referral, and they will discuss the fees with you before proceeding with the assessment. ​

Assessment fees can range from $1,200-$2,800, depending on the assessment required.

FUNDING

There are funding options that may help reduce or completely cover the cost of your appointments. We are approved providers for Medicare and also support clients who are funded through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Additionally, you may be eligible for rebates through your private health insurance, depending on your policy.

POLICY

CANCELLATIONS

We are aware that plans can change unexpectedly, however to manage our schedule effectively and accommodate all clients fairly, we require at least 48-hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. â€‹

  • 50% of the consultation fee will apply for cancellations made within 24-48 hours from the time of your appointment.

  • The full consultation fee (100%) will apply for cancellations and no-shows made within 24-hours from the time of your appointment and for same day cancellations.

  • If you fall unwell suddenly on the day of your appointment and are not feeling up to a telehealth session, the cancellation fee can be waived if you provide a medical certificate from your GP within 48-hours of your missed appointment.

LEGAL MATTERS

​The Nest Psychology Melbourne does not offer reports or letters for courts, recommendations for custody arrangements, or court appearances.
